What is UP with Neil using handheld cameras to film himself?

Personally, I wish he'd concentrate a little more on songwriting myself. But it's OK.
On his website I think he said something about making all his videos for Fork in the Road with a handheld as some sort of comment on the current state of the economy.
He's always done things his way.
Natch.
