Now that's hot type. The cover's gorgeous.

For your collab, did you and G.C. alternate lines or something? Curious to hear about your "working conditions."

Here's G.C.'s quick description of the process:

"The ms is a product of collaborative writing between February 2008 and May 2009. Basically we wrote poems back and forth to each other, sometimes once or twice a week, sometimes five or six times in a single day. The net result was 500+ pp. of poems, which we have whittled down to the present ms (175 pp.). Each poem responded on some level to its predecessor, so there is lots of sustained imagery, even in this reduced and edited version. Since so much material has been edited out, there is no longer a one-to-one correspondence in terms of the generative conversation, but the thematic preoccupations of the original conversation are still evident."

So we didn't switch off lines, we switched off poems. What we'd do is one of us would email a poem to the other, and then the other would quickly write one and send it back. The ones we've published, we've published under our individual names, but when we were thinking about collecting them in book form, we thought of it as one thing, that the poems were so closely aligned that they needed to be one book with both our names on the cover and no individual attribution inside. But people can guess if they want to. That might be fun.

Did I write that? It sounds pedantic. Can't that be another text that doesn't have a specific attibution??

Maybe it was something we came up with together? In a rush, maybe? I'd have to go looking to find out, and searching through my email is tedious.

Coming up with something together! We should do it, definitely.

But wait, we already did it--is that what you're saying??

I'm so confused.
