I’ve been sick. The one-week flu became a second week of coughing and etcetera. So here we are. I’ve been away.
And look at this week ahead of several thousand of us preparing to descend on Chicago for AWP.
I bought some new recording equipment, and here’s the first song. It’s a response to not feeling well, I suppose. Which can only mean: electric guitar.

I've had the same black plague for the past four days. Did you leave your germs all over your blog?
Nice song. Right away I thought of some melancholy Jayhawks thing from Smile, but then I thought no, not quite.
I'm gonna try to play and sing this on my acoustic guitar, but I might have to transpose it to a lower key--my voice is low and kind of ugly. Unusually low right now.
No, the key of G works for me, or will when I get my voice back.
Feel better!
David!
I like the idea that there's someone out there singing this. You're much better than I am at picking out chords. I've no ear for that. I need people to tell me the chords. Usually numerous times.
Jordan,
Ready or not, I'm on my way to Chicago. Come by table G14 and I'll give you a chapbook. maybe two. And that other book I owe you. I rise from my sickness bearing gifts.
Didn't make it, I'm sorry to say. Hope it was fun?
Well, it was. In the end I found 9,000 felt much the same as 8,000.
Except for the elevators. The elevators were disturbing.
