The ironic thing is, Neil Young is more fading than burning. No, no, not for you and I, but for the 20-somethings. "Remind me again what he sang," one of my fellow poets said the other night over beer. The moment Young stood in, too, is fading. Not that that moment still isn't pertinent, it's just not getting the press. There are signs we could slip back into it, small signs.
Really enjoyed your visit to South Bend. You generated quite a bit of excitement about the creative writing program. Have fun with your brain transplant.

True enough. But in that way even the ones that burn out still fade away, so my money's still on the passion! I'll go down fighting.
Or at least I will after the brain transplant. This one's feeling like fading away is just fine.
