Heading into the Country Feedback

I'm going to Louisville for a week or so, and I'll leave the blog with one of the best songs and performances of all time. There's a tone that R.E.M. is able to capture that stands alone in contemporary music. Leonard Cohen is able to go there, from a different direction. Enough said.

It is really something. I watched it about 10 times. Makes me shiver more than Cohen's "Suzanne" and that is saying something.

i was at that very concert. it was the most amazing show i've ever attended. they released a dvd, "Perfect Square," with pretty much the whole performance.

if you don't have it yet, go out and buy it. the sound quality of the DTS track is fantastic — just as if you were right there on stage — and michael stipe was in a great mood, too.

the youtube video is of course a snippet from that dvd.

Charles & Louise: Agreed.

Renew: I didn't know that. I'm off to amazon.com, then . . .
